What can a school community achieve in a year? 💜
As part of our 175 year, LHS partnered with @menphysuk as our ‘175 School Charity’. Emma Sharpe (COO) launched the partnership in a whole-school assembly in March last year, inspiring students and staff to fundraise throughout the year.
Year 13 Charity Prefect Eva led an assembly celebrating the incredible efforts of our school community, as we proudly presented Menphys with a cheque for £4,533.91.
Emma then thanked everyone involved and shared more about their Neurodivergent Girls’ Club — a powerful initiative that reflects our core values of belonging, inclusion, and female empowerment.
A huge thank you to everyone who made this possible — your efforts will make a real difference. 🌟
We are absolutely delighted to celebrate one of our alumni, Esme Hamilton, on her incredible achievements! 🏆
Esme claimed her first professional title at the Investec South African Women’s Open, holding off a strong challenge to secure a brilliant breakthrough victory. She has now gone on to be crowned Women’s European Champion, an extraordinary milestone in her career.
During her time at Loughborough High School, Esme balanced her academic studies with junior golf, showing exceptional dedication. As part of our Elite Athlete Programme, she devoted her P.E. and CCF afternoons to developing her game, commitment that is clearly paying off on the international stage.
We are incredibly proud of everything she has achieved. Congratulations, Esme. We can’t wait to see what comes next! ⛳🌍
✨ The path from comedian to author ✨
We were thrilled to welcome former pupil @rachelsvparris back to campus last Friday to share her inspiring journey from improviser and comedian to presenter, musician and now author of `Introducing Mrs Collins`! 📚
Speaking in our whole school assembly, Rachel encouraged pupils to embrace opportunities and “just say yes”, reminding us that the most unexpected experiences often shape our futures. Reflecting on her own path, she shared how a love of improvisation built her confidence and opened doors to a wide range of creative roles.
Following a lively Q&A, Rachel spoke to our Year 12 students about female leadership, highlighting the importance of collaboration, resilience and trusting your own voice. Her message was clear: leadership doesn’t have to follow a traditional mould, and you likely have more power than you think you do.
The visit concluded with an engaging English masterclass for Sixth Form students, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the writing and publishing process – an invaluable experience for aspiring authors.
A huge thank you to Rachel for such an inspiring day. Her journey is a powerful reminder that there’s no single path to success and that saying “yes” along the way could lead to something incredible 🌟
“This House believes that climate change is the biggest emergency of our time.” 🌍
This #EarthDay we`re reflecting on a series of lively debates that took place in November that encouraged both Loughborough High School and Grammar pupils to discuss climate change on the run up to the annual Conference of the Parties (COP 30).
Young people are now more active than ever in discussions about the climate and how they can make a positive impact on the planet, and the Loughborough Schools Foundation is no different. We instil curiosity and encourage them to use critical thinking skills to question the decisions of those in power.

Three wins away from a place in Wimbledon! 🎾
Current pupil and Loughborough University National Tennis Academy (LUNTA) player Daniella Britton, who won the under 16 and under 18 national champion 🏆, has been given the Wimbledon qualifier wildcard.
What does that mean? She will compete in a three-round knock-out tournament starting on 22 June, just one week prior to the championships for a place in the tournament 💪.

At the weekend 50 pupils set off into the Peaks for their Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh`s Award practice!⛺🥾
Taking part in the DofE awards is a great opportunity for the girls as they learn vital skills to not only live in the wilderness but to also work as a team, keep morale high and face the challenges nature brings their way.
The girls had a fantastic time ticking off their routes and counting down the checkpoints until they completed the practice ready for the qualifiers in the summer, while also enjoying stunning views as well as a few sweet treats along the way🌄
We support our pupils in a multitude of ways when it comes to ensuring they understand the revision strategies that suit them. Our subject specialists offer not only practical exam support and advice, but also equip pupils with the tools to positively support their mental and physical wellbeing, ensuring they can achieve their very best and reach their full potential.
We`re wishing the best of luck to Loughborough Lightning players Ella Clark and Tom Halfhide ahead of tomorrow`s games! It`s also an exciting day as Mr Halfhide will be part of Loughborough University history as he is set to play in their first Men`s Netball Super League game.
