Empowering girls to shape their future

Celebrating International Women’s Day

This International Women’s Day, our fantastic Prefect Team organised a project to spotlight the women they’re inspired by. Using the prompt, ‘I am proud of the women that…’. they encouraged their peers to contribute examples of all the women who have had an impact on them. From authors to women in STEM, activists and mothers, we couldn’t be prouder to see our girls following in the footsteps of so many inspiring role models.

Our pupils said…

“I’m proud of the women that stand up for what they believe because the only reason we have current rights and we’re able to do what we can do, and do that to the best of our ability, is because women stood up for what they believe in.

“I’m proud of women who choose their own paths and excel in what they do because they love it.”

“I’m proud of women who support others because if every woman supported others, then the world would be a better place.”

“I’m proud of women who speak up about issues all around the world and who use their voice for good.”

“I’m proud of women who make advances in STEM because I just think it’s so inspiring to see women in male-dominated fields.”

“I’m proud of women that defy expectations because I believe lots of women are told what they can do and what they’re supposed to be and I’m proud of women who go against that and are who they are authentically.”

“I am really proud of all the fantastic girls and women who have been through our school in the last 176 years. Long may it continue.”
