Class of 2026 celebrate strong A Level results

Following two years of hard work and dedication, Year 13 students at Loughborough High School are celebrating an outstanding set of A Level results. We are incredibly proud of each and every individual in this year’s results cohort. 

Students achieved 79% A*-B grades, with 21 students achieving three As or better. All three students holding Oxbridge offers successfully met their grades and secured their places. Our Joan Davis Scholar recipient also achieved an outstanding A*AAA to secure her place at medical school.

Dr Fiona Miles, Head of Loughborough High School, said: “We are so proud of our fantastic Year 13s, who have shown exceptional drive, energy and resilience in all that they have done. They should be incredibly proud of all that they have achieved throughout their time at the High School, and we wish them all the very best for their next steps.” 

This year, we identified particular success in STEM, with 100% of Further Mathematics students achieving A*-A grades, highlighting the strength of our provision, the dedication of our subject specialist staff and the achievements of our young women in a traditionally underrepresented area.

Students now look ahead to pursuing their next steps as girls have accepted places at leading universities as well as prestigious degree apprenticeships. Alongside the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge, destinations include King’s College London, University of St Andrews, University of Warwick, University of Birmingham, Newcastle University and University of Nottingham. 

Reflecting on the support she has received from the School throughout her A Level studies, Year 13 student, Tisha, said: “I think having regular updates with Ms Grainger [Head of Futures] to see where I could go and potential paths, as well as joining all the societies with my friends in our free times, showed me what was out there – I did not expect myself going to Warwick to study Psychology out of all things.” 

As this year’s leavers move on to university, employment, specialist training and other destinations, they take with them not only their academic achievements, but the skills and experiences developed throughout their time to become well-rounded individuals and exceptional female leaders for the future.
