Earlier this year, Year 9 pupil, Numa, started the charity
with her first project – a fundraiser to support children in need in Sri Lanka.
Numa raised £500 to support 50 children who were in need of school equipment, which their parents were unable to afford, with stationery packs.
Not content to just stop there, Numa has now embarked on her second project. She aims to provide healthy school meals for children in Sri Lanka, where many families are currently struggling to afford food.
To raise funds, Numa has written and released a children’s book which focuses on the issues of plastic pollution and its impact on the environment. Inspired by the work of Sir David Attenborough, Numa has dedicated Charlie and Momma Turtle’s Ocean Journey to him.
Full of vibrant illustrations and engaging language, the proceeds of the book sale will undoubtedly change the lives of children in Sri Lanka. The nutritious school meals will go a long way to improving their experience within education and their overall wellbeing.
Not only will this project make a significant difference to the lives of many struggling families, but the book will also help to educate young readers about the very current issue of plastic pollution.
We couldn’t be prouder of the amazing work that Numa is doing to make a difference to the lives of children in need.
