Taster Day

We are proud of our outstanding academic results – in 2025, over 64% of our students achieved A*/A grades at A Level. Being ranked in the top 4% of all schools nationally reflects the strength of our teaching, our small class sizes, and an environment that celebrates both individuality and achievement.

Our pupils enjoy an exceptional co-curricular programme, with over 130 clubs and societies and more than 50 musical ensembles and choirs. Thanks to our partnership with Coach House Pianos, every pupil has access to some of the finest pianos in our state-of-the-art Music School.

Sport is an integral part of school life, with 18 different sports on offer, including football, hockey, cricket, and triathlon. Many of our pupils compete at national level, with some representing Team GB. We are proud partners of both Loughborough University Sport and Leicester City Football Club. Our competitive Student Athlete Programme and Sports Scholarships provide an excellent pathway for aspiring young athletes.

Our school sits within a thriving, co-educational campus in the heart of Loughborough, East Midlands. With excellent transport links, we are easily accessible to families across the region.

Our next Year 7 Taster Day for Year 5 pupils will be held on 23 June 2026.

Attend a Taster Day

We offer a Taster Day in June for year 5 children who are interested in attending our lovely school. We also offer Taster Days for Year 10 girls who are interested in Sixth Form. Sixth Form Taster Days occur throughout the year.

We highly recommend our taster day as a wonderful way for your daughter to experience life at Loughborough High School. She will meet some of our staff and pupils, explore our facilities, and take part in a variety of enjoyable activities throughout the day. The taster is also a lovely opportunity to meet and make friends with other girls who are considering LHS as their next school.

Break time will include a Q&A with current Year 7 pupils, offering insight into their experience of LHS so far, and everyone will be offered a drink and a cookie.

Lunch will be provided free of charge in our Dining Hall.

The day runs from 09:30 to 14:30.

Our individually tailored taster days provide a wonderful opportunity to experience real Year 12 lessons in your chosen subjects and to gain a genuine feel for what it is like to be a student at LHS. You will meet current sixth formers in the lessons you attend, as well as during some downtime in our beautiful Sixth Form Centre. Lunch will be with Year 11, giving you a chance to get to know students in your own year group too. You will be paired with a current student who will look after you during your visit, guiding you around the campus and answering any questions you may have.
