Indoor County Cricket Champions

Celebrating indoor cricket success

Loughborough High School is celebrating a fantastic sporting achievement after the U15 team was crowned Leicestershire Indoor County Cricket champions following an impressive run at the county finals.

The competition, held at Crown Hills Community College, saw the girls deliver a series of outstanding performances against strong opposition.

In the group stages, the team secured convincing victories over Uppingham College and Ratcliffe College, topping their pool to progress confidently to the semi-finals. There, they faced hosts Crown Hills Community College, producing another composed performance to book their place in the final.

The final proved to be a closely contested encounter against Leicester Grammar School, but Loughborough High School held their nerve to secure victory and claim the county title.

This success continues a strong tradition for the School in indoor cricket, having previously won the competition multiple times across both U13 and U15 age groups, and regularly progressing to represent Leicestershire at regional level.

Following this latest triumph, the team will now go on to represent the county at the regional finals, which are set to take place at the Edgbaston Indoor Cricket Centre.

Jo Hackett, Director of Sport at Loughborough High School said: “This is a superb achievement from the team. They showed great composure, teamwork and resilience throughout, improving with each match and delivering when it mattered most. We look forward to seeing them represent Leicestershire at the regional finals and wish them every success.”

This latest victory highlights the continued strength and depth of sport at Loughborough High School, as well as the pupils’ commitment to training, teamwork and competitive excellence

I am so proud of the girls. They have been committed to training for this tournament and always show up with enthusiasm and the desire to learn. They are incredibly supportive of each other and their Loughborough High School spirit really shines through in these moments. I am so pleased that they have reached the regional finals once again after a
dominating performance at the county tournament.
