Why Attend Our Year 7 Taster Day?

Experience a Day at One of Leicestershire’s Top Independent Schools for Girls

At Loughborough High School offers the unique experience for pupils currently in Year 5 to discover everything that our School has to offer. This immersive day is an essential part of the school decision-making process for both you and your child and we strive to give prospective pupils a truly insightful experience.

“If you are thinking about sending your daughter to the High School, I strongly recommend our Year 7 Taster Day. This is the best way for your daughter to find out what it is really like at LHS,” said Head of Year 7, Mrs Jenny Day.

Running from 09:30-14:30, your daughter will spend the day alongside other pupils who are planning to join us and take part in a range of engaging activities. Led by our warm and welcoming staff, Taster Day sessions might include a murder mystery in Maths, making Spring rolls in Food Technology, a lab experiment in Science or a Games activity in Sport.

The girls had a great relationship with the staff and were free to express themselves. I saw how happy the older girls were at LHS and decided I wanted this too.

Girls will also meet with our current

pupils and have the opportunity to chat with them about what life is like in Year 7. From

to assemblies and academics, our current pupils will share their first-hand experiences with pupils looking to join the School and this is a fantastic chance for girls to ask any questions they might have.

This sense of community is embedded into life in Year 7 as not only does each Form tutor get to know every pupil on an individual level, but every Year 7 pupil is also allocated a pupil ‘buddy’ who acts as a ‘big sister’ while they settle into school life. If any issues do materialise, the girls can feel that they have someone to talk to who can offer help and guidance whenever it is needed.

During the Taster Day, the girls will also enjoy a beautiful lunch in our Dining Hall – a bright and modern space which allows pupils to interact and mix with each other. Offering a range of nutritious hot and cold food options, lunchtime provides the perfect opportunity for prospective pupils to get to know their future classmates.

We want girls to join us full of potential and with a sense of belonging to a supportive, nurturing community. We hope that girls leave our Taster Day excited to tell you about their day and looking ahead to the school of her future.

Year 7 Taster Day

Our next Taster Day takes place on 23 June 2026. We would love to welcome your daughter to Loughborough High School
