Following an inspection in November 2024 by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI), Loughborough High School is proud to share the published outcome.
The report highlights the strengths of the School’s Futures, and Personal, Social Health and Citizenship Education (PSHCE) programmes, as well as the wide-ranging academic and co-curricular opportunities for girls.
Below are some of the comments shared by the inspectors, which capture the School’s nurturing and supportive community, alongside its high-quality education and extensive enrichment opportunities.
“Teachers are knowledgeable and create positive, supportive relationships in lessons.”
“The extensive co-curricular programme provides pupils with many opportunities to develop their skills, interests and leadership skills.”
“The broad curriculum encourages pupils’ intellectual curiosity.”
“Leaders encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience in the classroom and co-curricular activities.”
ISI inspections are undertaken to report on compliance with independent school regulations. Loughborough High School successfully met all the required standards and received high praise within the comments and feedback from inspectors.
Rather than giving an overall grading, the new framework for inspection, which was released in 2023, focuses on reporting in the following five areas:
- Leadership, management and governance
- Pupils’ education, training and recreation
- Pupils’ physical and mental health and wellbeing
- Pupils’ social and economic wellbeing and contribution to society
- Safeguarding
Dr Fiona Miles, Head of Loughborough High School, said: “I am delighted to say that Loughborough High School has convincingly met every standard, and I would like to thank the girls and staff for their support during this rigorous and exacting process.”
“The strength of character, independence and maturity of the girls was remarked upon during the inspection and it is wonderful to see how examples of their leadership, creativity and public-spiritedness feature throughout the report.”
