Our excellent facilities, including Quorn playing fields, Parkin sports centre and state of the art fitness suite coupled with skilled coaching staff, ensure every student can thrive physically, mentally, and socially. Through integration of sports into daily life, we foster hard work and resilience, encouraging students to embrace a healthy, active lifestyle that serves them beyond the classroom.

Fixture Lists

The fixture lists are put in place by the Head of Department and are designed to be challenging to test and develop both teams and individuals. Loughborough High School is increasing the variety of co-curricular clubs and activities, and we hope that this in turn will increase the number of pupils across the school playing representative sport.

Hockey

Hockey

Hockey continues to thrive at the High School from U12 through to our Senior teams. In recent years we have become one of the top girls’ schools for hockey in the country, including being crowned U18 Tier 2 National Campions in 2025 and U13 National Champions in 2024. We also have multiple players involved in the England Hockey Player Pathway System.

On a weekly basis we field 8 girls’ teams and offer all hockey players the opportunity to train twice a week, during games and after school, and play a fixture either midweek or on a Saturday morning. Throughout the year we are involved in numerous prestigious National competitions as well as county and regional tournaments. There is also an opportunity for our senior players to train and play in Indoor tournaments.

We strive to create a supportive and enjoyable environment in which pupils are encouraged to play hockey with confidence, to respect themselves and each other, and to work as a team. Above all, we want pupils to enjoy the experience of playing hockey and ultimately continue to play hockey once they leave school, no matter the level.

Netball

Netball

Netball is a popular sport at Loughborough High, with competitive teams available for girls of all ages. We promote positive values and behaviors in all our training activities and matches. Our approach ensures that all matches, whether inter-house or against other schools, are played in an excellent spirit of sportsmanship, fair play, and with a healthy degree of competitiveness. Netball is played in the spring term, and we have 16 teams participating regularly across all age groups, providing a wonderful opportunity for developing physical and mental strength, flexibility, coordination, teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
