Safeguarding at Loughborough High School
At Loughborough High School, the safety and well-being of every student is our top priority. We are fully committed to creating a secure, supportive, and inclusive environment where all children feel valued, respected, and a sense of belonging. Our safeguarding policies are designed to ensure that every member of staff is equipped to identify concerns, respond appropriately, and maintain a culture of vigilance. Regular training, clear reporting procedures, and close partnerships with external agencies help us act quickly and effectively to keep our students safe from harm.
We believe that safeguarding is the responsibility of everyone within our school community. We encourage open communication between students, staff, and families, and we provide clear guidance to students, staff and parents on how to raise any concerns. Whether through our pastoral support team, designated safeguarding lead, or classroom discussions, we ensure that students know they have trusted adults they can turn to. By working together, we aim to create a school environment where children can thrive both academically and emotionally, knowing that their safety is always a priority.
If you are concerned about a child’s welfare during term time, please contact either the DSL or DDSL (contact details are below) and provide a detailed record of your concern. Please do not investigate the concern yourself.
Outside of term time, please use the high.office@lsf.org email address which is routinely monitored during school holidays from which you will be directed to the DSL or a DDSL. Alternatively, if you are concerned that a child is at risk of harm or that a family urgently requires support then please contact the Leicestershire County Council First Response Central Duty Team on 0116 3055500.
From time to time, pupil information may be shared with third party agencies where welfare concerns have been raised. These concerns will be shared with the pupil’s parents/carers initially unless their involvement places the child at risk.
