Student Athlete Programme
At Loughborough High School, the Student Athlete Programme supports our high-performing girls who already compete at regional or national level. It provides tailored, expert support across sports coaching, fitness, strength and conditioning, nutrition, sports psychology, and lifestyle mentoring, designed to enhance both athletic and academic success.
This bespoke programme is developed in close collaboration with each pupil, her parents, and relevant sporting bodies to ensure a fully integrated approach to development. It is a valuable resource for ambitious young athletes navigating the demands of elite sport alongside their education.
The programme equips our student athletes with the skills, mindset and structure needed to succeed in competitive performance environments. Each pupil benefits from personalised mentoring and structured guidance that prepares her to thrive in high-performance sporting settings.

“The Student Athlete Programme has two clear aims: to create outstanding sporting individuals and to encourage participants to take ownership of their learning. We prepare each athlete to ‘kick on’ in elite sport beyond school.”
– Mr Emyr Lewis, Head of Performance Sport
